What are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are designed to completely transform your smile. They are durable, incredibly long-lasting and can cover imperfections that would otherwise require invasive procedures to correct. Veneers are custom created to match the rest of your smile, ensuring that they look and feel completely natural. With proper care, you can expect your porcelain veneers to last for roughly 10 years.

Why do you need Porcelain Veneers?

Veneers are often considered a quick and easy way to makeover your entire smile. They help to cover a number of dental imperfections that don’t necessarily cause a problem functionally but may have an effect your appearance and self-esteem. Some of the problems that veneers can help cover include:

  • Staining and discoloration
  • Chips, cracks and small breaks
  • Spaces and gaps between teeth
  • Uneven teeth or gummy smiles
  • Slightly crooked or misaligned teeth

What makes you a good candidate for Porcelain Veneers?

Veneers are ideal for most adult patients who are ready to change the look and feel of their smile. To be considered for veneers, you’ll want to come into our office for an examination and consultation. Veneers are best suited for patients who only have minor imperfections on the front of their teeth. If additional work is needed, this will be discussed during your consultation appointment.

What happens during the procedure for Porcelain Veneers?

You will come into the office and have the fronts of your teeth slightly buffed to make room for the veneers. Because veneers require minimal filing and drilling of previous teeth, little to no anesthesia is required. Impressions are then made and sent off to a local lab where the veneers are made for you. The dental veneers are made to match the color, shape and look of your existing teeth to create a full, seamless look. The veneers are then attached to the front of your teeth and filed down for a more comfortable fit. You can expect the veneers to last for a decade with proper care and maintenance.
